Advance Power Study, Protection and Coordination Course
Introduction:
This workshop aims to enhance the understanding of Power System Protection systems among plant operators, electricians, field technicians, and engineers. By gaining a comprehensive understanding of power systems and implementing proper management practices, participants will be able to improve plant efficiency, performance, and overall safety.
The workshop is carefully designed to provide a thorough understanding of power system protection on both theoretical and practical levels. It begins with foundational topics, ensuring a smooth transition for engineers and technicians who may need a refresher. The workshop gradually progresses to more advanced applications, covering topics such as the importance of protection, different types of faults and their impacts, calculations of short circuit currents, and system earthing.
Practical exercises are incorporated into the workshop, including simple fault calculations, relay settings, and the evaluation of a current transformer's magnetization curve. These hands-on activities enable participants to apply their knowledge and gain practical experience.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have acquired valuable insights and skills that can be directly applied to their work, contributing to improved power system protection and overall operational efficiency.
