Centrifugal Gas Compressor (Operation, Control, Start Up, Shutdown, Maintenance and Troubleshooting) Course
Introduction:
This course provides a practical introduction to centrifugal gas compressors and how they operate in process plants using dynamic simulation models. Compressor performance and selection, instrumentation and control, surge protection, and compressor operation are some of the major subjects addressed in the course. There will be the use of case studies and an emphasis on self-solving among the participants.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course the Participants will learn about:
· Maintenance and troubleshooting
· Have an understanding of the different types of pumps.
· Be able to operate pumps as close as possible to the design efficiency.
· Will be able to monitor pump efficiency, availability and reliability.
· Have learned about operation and maintenance strategies.
· Be able to troubleshoot pump problems.
· A practical introduction to centrifugal gas compressors
· About control and operation parameters in detail through dynamic simulators
· A basic overview of the main principles of compressor design and; of how easy, or difficult, it is to slip into abnormal operating conditions
· An introduction to the use of dynamic simulation and the effect on a compressor of changes in pressures, temperatures, and compositions
