IBC International Building Code Course
Introduction:
Beginning on October 1, 2013, the 2013 Abu Dhabi International Building Code (ADIBC) was voluntary. As of October 1, 2014, it became mandatory. The 2009 IBC served as the basis for this document, which also adopted ASCE 7-05 and ACI 318M-08 (the "M" stands for metric). These documents were altered in a few ways. The replacement of the maps for SS, S1, and TL with corresponding maps for the UAE and the replacement of the basic wind speed map with an option for users to continue using the basic wind speed values currently in use in the three municipalities of Abu Dhabi—Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain, and the Western Region—are arguably the two most significant (and evident) modifications to ASCE 7-05.
Course Objectives:
ACI recently introduce its standards for evaluating the existing structure according to the certain procedure so in this course will present it and provide the code procedure for repair. Moreover, the ACI defines the structure system in case of earthquake load so this course will introduce it with the specification required to design the structure, which is affected by the earthquake.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for engineers who are interested in using ACI in design, construction, and repair of the reinforced concrete structure.
