Multistage Pump Overhauling Course
Introduction:
This course provides participants with comprehensive instruction on the correct procedures involved in the preparation, rigging, disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of multistage centrifugal pumps commonly used across various industries. The course covers both horizontally split and radially split pumps.
Participants will learn maintenance and troubleshooting techniques that will equip them to diagnose, predict, and prevent common issues associated with these pumps. They will also receive guidance on the proper installation of mechanical seal assemblies and the mechanical seal piping plans applicable to multistage pumps. The course also covers topics such as the design, installation, and optimal operation of multistage centrifugal pumps, along with the use of relevant tools and measuring equipment.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
· Identify typical multi-stage pump designs and associated applications
· Demonstrate in logical order the major tasks for the disassembly/assembly of a multi-stage centrifugal pump
· Demonstrate routine maintenance and overhaul procedures
· Inspect and determine when to replace and/or repair pump components
· Describe various troubleshooting procedures
At the end of this course participants will:
· Have an understanding of the different types of pumps.
· Be able to operate pumps as close as possible to the design efficiency.
· Will be able to monitor pump efficiency, availability and reliability.
· Have learnt about selection, operation and maintenance strategies.
· Be able to troubleshoot pump problems.
Who Should Attend?
Service, maintenance, machine repair, or engineering staff of an industrial plant, institution or public utility which use multi-stage pumps and related equipment. Individuals should have direct involvement or responsibility for multi-stage pump installation, performance and maintenance.
