NDT Inspection Technique and Application in Refinery Course
Introduction:
This training course on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) provides an overview and understanding of the key NDT methods, including Visual Inspection, Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and Eddy Current Testing. Participants will learn how to select the appropriate method based on factors such as materials, defect type, position, and weld geometry. The course also covers materials sorting techniques, the use of specialized instruments, and surface inspection methods.
Participants will gain knowledge in various NDT methods including visual inspection, magnetic particle testing, penetrant inspection, and eddy current testing. The course also includes insights into internal examination techniques, X-ray and gamma radiography, and ultrasonic flaw detection methods.
Course Objectives:
- To appreciate the available methods
- To explain the basic principles of these methods
- To identify the advantages and disadvantages of these, both in the application and defect detection capability
- To carry out basic hands-on applications for familiarization purposes
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for NDT personnel who are preparing themselves for obtaining Level I or Level II certifications in nondestructive testing. It is also very useful for experienced NDT examiners to review the NDT for the VT, UT, RT, Pt and Mt test methods. It is valuable for the personnel and managers of quality assurance and quality control departments in construction, service and Refinery in oil and gas companies. Production and welding engineers will find it very useful as well to support their background of post welding inspection and testing technologies.
