Introduction:
The purpose of this course is to give learners a grasp of the principles and technique of stress analysis for selecting supports and hangers for expansion joints. The several phases in stress analysis for the design of expansion joints and the selection of pipe supports/hangers will be given after the types and applications of pipe support hardware and expansion joints are discussed. Since the course focuses on concepts rather than software, CAESAR II will not be used in it.

This course will enable you:
- To familiarize participants with the main concepts, and methodology of Pipe Stress Analysis.
- To introduce participants with Selection of expansion joints,
- To know the abnormalities and malfunctioning of expansion joints
- Types of pipe supports, Selection of Pipe supports, deciding pipe support locations.

This course is intended for those individuals whose work includes piping layout engineering, stress analysis, assessment of piping flexibility, design and selection of pipe expansion joints, supports and hangers, This course is valuable to Design engineers, Mechanical engineers and Plant managers in broadening their knowledge and in dealing with expansion joints or pipe supports problems. It is advisable for participants to have one or two projects’ experience.

- Concept of Cold Pull.
