Introduction:
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course the participant shall be able to:
- Grid power plants, Independent power plants, captive power plants, and Co-generation power plants. Various mechanical and electrical equipment used in various types of power plants.
- Auxiliary and ancillary systems in power plants, their operation, and maintenance.
- Economic operation of power plants in the power system and cost of power generation.
- Protection of electrical equipment in power plants. Management of power demand and load dispatch and grid islanding operations.
- Extra high voltage Outdoor switchyards and Gas-insulated substations (GIS) for transmission and for receiving power at extra-high-voltage.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for anyone responsible for the design, operation, protection, repair, and maintenance of electrical power systems and equipment in power plants, transmission systems, and power distribution systems. The course would also be useful to those electrical engineers who are planning new electrical installations and augmentation/ modification of existing power distribution systems in view of plant expansion, to know about the state of the art, cost-effective methodologies for generation, transmission, and distribution of power.
