VFD Operation, Diagnostic Testing, Maintenance and Troubleshooting (EE) Course
Introduction:
The program will provide delegates with an introduction to various types of motors and drives, along with the associated terminology. It will delve into the application of these motors, discussing their suitability for different operational duties. The workshop will extensively cover the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of motors. Currently, electrical drives and rotating equipment account for approximately 50% of the world's total electrical energy consumption. The maintenance costs associated with electrical motors can be significant for industries such as manufacturing and mining. This workshop aims to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of how electrical motors work, their maintenance requirements, and common failure modes. Participants will gain the necessary tools to effectively maintain and troubleshoot electrical motors.
Course Objectives:
The objectives of this course:-
- Have an understanding of the different types of motors and drives.
- Be able to operate motors as close as possible to the design efficiency.
- Will be able to monitor efficiency, availability, and reliability.
- Have learned about selection, operation, and maintenance strategies.
- Be able to troubleshoot motor and drive problems.
- To present the operation and construction of AC electric motors and the electrical drives based on modern state-of-the-art inverter technology, and their characteristics that need to be matched with those of loads.
- To discuss maintenance procedures both for motors and drives following well-established industrial procedures as outlined in standards.
